Catelijne Muller speaks with MEP’s about recent EP reports on AI

ALLAI’s Catelijne Muller spoke at length with the MEP’s Garcia del Blanco and Schreinemacher on the EP reports on AI

The EP recently presented two important reports on AI. The first a proposal on a regulation on ethical principles for AI (Rapporteur Blanco del Garcia), the second on a liability regime for AI.

Catelijne spoke at length with EP Rapporteur Blanco del Garcia (S&D) on the different elements of the report. MEP Blanco del Garcia was inspired by the 7 Requirements for Trustworthy AI of the EU High Level Expert Group on AI, of which Ms. Muller was a member. They discussed the different positions of their respective member states and the possible roads forward towards achieving an effective legal framework for Trustworthy AI for Europe.

A week earlier, Catelijne spoke with MEP Schreinemacher (ALDE) on the second report on a liability framework for high risk AI. They discussed the definition of AI and of ‘high-risk’ and the position of this framework within existing EU legislation.
